History: Las Vegas has been home to a Triple-A minor league team since the ‘80s. The team started under the name Las Vegas Stars and now plays as the Las Vegas Aviators, but from 2000 to 2018 they were the Area 51s. Originally an affiliate of the San Diego Padres, the Area 51s spent times affiliated with the New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays and, perhaps most recognizably, the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Area 51s played at Cashman Field until 2019, but the now-Aviators moved to the Las Vegas Ballpark. The Las Vegas Triple-A side claimed two league titles and six division titles as a member of the Pacific Coast League.
